Customers with Microsoft SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager
installed on their computer have a powerful way to interface with
the SQL Server.
To connect to you database and start working on it, you will need:
a. SQL Server IP Address
b. SQL Server Login ID and Password
c. SQL Server database Name
Step 1.
Open Enterprise Manager. Select menu choice, Start -> Program
Files -> Microsoft SQL Server -> Enterprise Manager
Step 2.
After Enterprise Manager starts up, and Right Click on "SQL
Server Group". Select menu choice "New SQL Server Registration"
Step 3.
The Register SQL Server Wizard will start. Click on "next"
Step 4.
a. Enter the Assigned IP address of your SQL Server
b. Click on "Add >"
c. Click on "Next >"
Please Note: Your SQL Server IP address could be different.
Step 5.
Select the option "The SQL Server Login Information that was
assigned to me..."
Step 6.
Type in your login name and password in the appropriate boxes. Click
on "Next >".
Step 7.
Add the new SQL Server to the Server group you wish. Click on "Next
>".
Step 8.
Click on "finish" to complete the SQL Server registration.
Step 9.
When you click open the Server Group tree, you will now see the
IP address of your SQL Server.
Finally, Click on the "Databases" tree, you will find
your database in there.
