In order to reduce SPAM, we have disabled open SMTP relaying on our mail server. All clients are required to use SMTP Authentication when sending emails. If you are having problems sending emails, please refer to SMTP Authentication FAQ for more information.

In an effort to resolve many issues with the FlareHosting mail servers being blocked by other companies, we have decided to disable the ability to automatically forward messages to the following domains.  Messages that are individually forwarded or replied to that attempt to be delivered to any of these domains will not be effected.

Flare Hosting has seen increased issues with the mail.uploadmysite.com (208.83.26.8) email server in the past week.

Flare Hosting will be upgrading the hardware as well as the email server software on Sunday April 13, 2008 10:00pm

The server will be offline for this upgrade.

The expected down time will range from 3 to 12 hours.

Email will not be lost during this time only the ability to access your mail will be affected.

After the upgrade is complete you will see improved performance and a new webmail interface.

This upgrade is being done to continue our commitment to our customers in giving you the best possible solutions for your email needs.

We apologize for the short notice but there will emergency maintenance performed on some of the mail servers this afternoon starting at 3:00PM EST. This maintenance will take approximately 2 hours during which you may not be able to send or receive email.

Based on standard practices for email communication, sending servers should queue messages and attempt to resend at a later time if communication can not be made to the receiving servers. Each mail server we are performing maintenance on should not be down any longer than the typical retry timeout periods.

We had a network outage upstream from us. Some sites were not accessible due to this outage. This issue has been corrected and all sites should be accessible. We apologize but this was not in our control. We are making a few changes to the overall network to have more redundant connections.

Due to an Internet router about 10 to 15 percent of the world could not route traffic to the Flare Hosting IP addresses. The network and servers and sites were never down. They have fixed the Router issue and all traffic should be normal. We apologize but this was not in our control.

On Sunday, December 2nd, we completed a total upgrade of our data center. The upgrade occurred during our regular scheduled maintenance window at 12:00AM EST and be completed by 9:00AM EST. This final upgrade impacted all customers using FlareHosting.com’s web and database servers. During the upgrade, all websites hosted at Flarehosting.com were redirected to a maintenance page

11-18-2007 12:00AM-7:00AM Data center upgrade: November 18th, we will begin a complete upgrade of our data center. The upgrade will occur during our regularly scheduled maintenance window at 12:00AM EST and be completed by 7:00AM EST. This, the first of two upgrades, will impact all customers using FlareHosting.com's shared e-mail servers. During this upgrade, customers will be unable to connect to the mail servers to retrieve or send e-mail. Any messages that are sent to your Email during this time will be held in an external spool and be delivered upon completion of the upgrade.
